News from the first meeting of the Madison Velodrome Club

A big Thank You to everyone who made the first Madison Velodrome meeting a success. For those of you who couldn't make it, this is what you missed ... We formed a voluntary club and discussed our vision of the velodrome, which is a year-round training facility (Olympians, triathletes, roadies, youth), a place for entertainment, and a community gathering place.

We all feel that a velodrome in Madison makes sense, but feelings aren't facts. Just how bike crazy is Madison? How many people will forsake their basement rollers for an indoor track? And who can add watching exciting track races to their already busy schedules? Our group's mission is to put together a business model that shows that a velodrome in Madison has a high probability of success. To accomplish this mission we have created six committees to perform specific tasks (please see list of committees below.)

Please support the Madison Velodrome Campaign by becoming a member of the Madison Velodrome Club. Send an email to velodromemadison@yahoo.com with your name and phone number or send me a facebook message with your email address and phone number. Please also include in the email/message which committee(s) you would like to be on. All committees will meet within the next three weeks.

We are asking club members to pay a club due of $25 per year (dues will be collected at future meetings and club activities.) This seed money will go toward marketing, fund-raising, legal fees, photocopies, etc.
